Colton Cranston

Colton Cranston

A systems thinker and startup veteran with experience across Sales, Ops, Product, and Development, blending construction operations expertise with high-level tech entrepreneurship. As the VP of Product and AI at BuilderWire, Colton is responsible for developing the Velocity by BuilderWire next-gen B2B system connecting LBM Dealers with their Contractors for Account Management and AI-enabled ordering and quoting. This role has cemented Colton's extensive network, working directly with hundreds of suppliers in the LBM space and forging partnerships with every major co-op in the industry. He is the architect behind FutureBuild's intelligent systems, and his builder philosophy centers on Decomposition, Inquiry, and AI Collaboration. His profound passion and concern lie with Independent LBM Suppliers/Dealers and small local/residential contractors, firmly believing that Families and Communities > Major Corporations and Private Equity.

On a personal note, Colton was born and raised in Florida and has been based in San Diego for 11 years. His 12-year career spans exactly 4 years working directly on the real-world construction side and 8 years driving deep technological innovation in the Contech space, serving in key roles building solutions for Pro.com (acquired by Opendoor), DigiBuild (YC, Harvard Ventures), handdii, and TOOLBX. Off the clock, he is a proud girl dad to his awesome toddler, Sage, and a scratch(ish) golfer.

Grant Petkau

Grant Petkau

A builder, architectural designer, and technology founder with over 35 years of hands-on experience in the construction sector. As the Owner and Director of Kelbrook Construction Corporation in Kelowna, British Columbia, Grant has built a reputation delivering high-end custom homes defined by design integrity, precision, and an elevated human experience. He brings a rare ability to bridge real-world execution with systems-level thinking, and as co-founder of FutureBuild AI, he translates that architectural discipline into a new operating layer for construction. Grant drives the practical, on-the-ground strategy for FutureBuild, ensuring the platform transforms fragmented workflows into a deterministic, intelligence-driven system that truly solves the pain points of family-owned operators and small business builders.

Grant's work is guided by a core principle: architecture, whether physical or digital, should reduce friction, create clarity, and elevate human potential. His focus is not incremental improvement but building the systems that make better outcomes inevitable. That philosophy runs through everything at FutureBuild, from how the platform models real-world job sites to how it empowers Independent Dealers and Local Builders to compete at scale without losing what makes them great.
